Disintegration as a method of mineral beneficiation
One of the methods for preparing minerals for beneficiation is disintegration—a process that involves breaking down, crushing, and washing the mineral. As a result of disintegration, weak aggregate bonds are destroyed, allowing minerals to be freed from barren rock and clay inclusions. This process is mainly applied to easily and moderately washable ores (sands).
Depending on the beneficiation technology and the characteristics of the raw material, various disintegration methods are used:
- attrition disintegration (in an attrition machine);
- centrifugal hydraulic disintegration;
- disintegration in a washing drum (scrubber trommel).
