Lining of belt press filter drums
Lining (rubber coating) of drive drums is the process of covering conveyor drums with a technical rubber plate made from a special type of rubber with a relief pattern applied to its surface.
The lining of drive drums helps reduce maintenance costs, protects the drums from corrosion and material buildup, increases traction, and simultaneously extends the service life of the conveyor belt.
These issues can be addressed in various ways: re-rubberizing the drums, using worn-out conveyor belts as covers (and then mounting them on the drum). However, the required level of quality and protection can only be achieved through proper lining (rubber coating) of the drive drums.
The conveyor drum lining can be performed using several methods:
– hot vulcanization: performed in a mold or autoclave;
– mechanical fastening: the rubber plate is attached using fasteners;
– cold vulcanization: the rubber plate is bonded with a special two-component adhesive.
